Update company information

Maintain the legal name, identifier, address and normal salary-payment settings.

What this guide helps you do

Company Profile holds the company name, registration number, industry, country, address, state and postal code. Company Settings holds the defaults HRStuff uses for leave, payroll, dates, numbers and the company time zone. Only an HR administrator can open and save these cards.

Open ADMINISTRATION, then Settings. Each card is read-only until you choose Edit. This prevents accidental changes while you review the settings.

Open the company settings

  1. Open ADMINISTRATION, then Settings

Find Company Profile and Company Settings at the top of the page. Their current values are visible but cannot be changed yet.

  2. Choose Edit on the card you need

That card’s controls become available and Edit is replaced by Save. Choose Cancel if you only wanted to inspect the settings.

  3. Confirm that you are editing the right company

Check the company name in Company Profile before changing anything. An HR administrator works inside one customer company; a full platform administrator uses the separate Platform company controls.

Maintain the company identity

  • Company name is required and may be up to 120 characters.

  • Company registration number is the official identifier your organisation uses. HRStuff does not validate it against a government register.

  • Industry is an optional description of the company’s main type of business.

  • Company address is the organisation’s address, not an employee’s home address.

  • The saved name, address and country are also sent to Stripe for future invoice details when the company has online billing. If Stripe is temporarily unavailable, HRStuff keeps the settings change and warns you to save again later to retry the invoice update.

Set the normal salary timing

These fields prepare future payroll work. They do not instruct a bank, send money or change a published payslip.

  • Date of salary payment can be the 1st through the 28th, or the last day of the month. HRStuff suggests this date when a payroll run is created; an individual payslip may still use another date.

  • Salary payment month sets which month of work the payment covers. Choose Previous month if September’s salary is normally paid in October, or Current month if it is paid in September.

  • Payroll year starts on sets the boundary for year-to-date payroll totals and annual payroll limits. The date repeats every year, so you cannot choose 29 February.

Recognise the leave and calendar settings

  • Leave year starts in sets the month in which each leave year begins. If you change it, HRStuff moves existing requests into the new leave years so previously used leave remains counted.

  • Working week decides which weekdays consume leave. Changing it can recalculate pending and approved requests; read the separate working-week guide before changing it.

  • Calendar week starts from only changes whether calendars draw Monday or Sunday in the first column. It does not change which days count as work.

Save and check the result

  1. Review every selected value

Pay particular attention to similar fields such as Salary payment month, Date of salary payment, Leave year and Payroll year.

  2. Choose Save

HRStuff validates the choices and records the administrative change in the company Activity Log.

  3. Read the confirmation

The message calls out changes that need attention, including re-counted leave, a moved leave year, a country change that left public holidays untouched or an invoice-detail update that Stripe could not accept.

  4. Check the affected page

For example, check Payroll after changing salary timing, Leave Settings after changing the leave year, or Calendar after changing the week display.
