Request a feature

Explain the job you are trying to complete, what stops you today and the improvement you need.

What this guide helps you do

A feature request explains a job HRStuff does not yet support well or a task that takes too much work. Describe the result you need and what currently prevents it, rather than asking only for a particular button.

Feature requests are available to every signed-in user from Contact Us. The company and HRStuff version are recorded automatically, and the request becomes a private in-app support conversation.

Open the feature-request form

  1. Sign in and choose Contact Us

Contact Us is in the SUPPORT section of the left navigation. The signed-in page is different from the public enquiry form.

  2. Find Request a Feature

The page also contains Report a Bug. Use Request a Feature when HRStuff is working as intended but you cannot complete the task you need, or the task takes unnecessary work.

Write a request that can be understood

  1. Give it a one-line summary

The summary is required and may contain up to 120 characters. Name the outcome, not a vague category: “Filter payslips by department” is clearer than “Payroll improvement.”

  2. Explain the work you are doing

Say who does the task, when they do it and what they are trying to finish. Include the frequency or number of records when that changes the impact.

  3. Explain what stops you today

Describe the current steps, the missing information or the workaround. The description is required and may contain up to 4,000 characters.

  4. Describe a successful result

Say what you would be able to complete if the problem were solved. You may suggest an interface, but keep the required outcome separate from that suggestion.

Send and keep track of the request

  • Choose Send request once. HRStuff stores the request before showing the confirmation.

  • Signed-in support conversations stay inside HRStuff and are not sent by email. Return to Contact Us and use the Support Inbox to read any reply.

  • Waiting for HRStuff means your message is the latest entry. Waiting for you means HRStuff replied last.

  • If the form asks you to correct a field, the typed summary and description remain on the form.

Know who can read and reply

  • An ordinary employee sees only the support conversations they started. Colleagues cannot read the request.

  • An HR administrator can read every support conversation started from the company account, but cannot reply for another person.

  • Only the original sender can reply to HRStuff. A closed conversation remains readable but cannot receive another customer reply unless HRStuff reopens it.

  • Do not put passwords, verification codes or unnecessary personal employee information in the request.
